Unique Character Loadouts and Abilities


· Each character will have a unique set of abilities and weapons that they can use

· Each character will have a primary and secondary weapon

· Each character will have 1 character-specific passive ability that is immutable and unique

· Each character will have 1 additional passive ability that can be changed and upgraded.

o The player will be able to choose 1 out of 2 or 3 options

· Each character will have 1 tactical skill that can be changed or upgraded

o The player will be able to choose 1 out of 2 or 3 options (choose 2 for Nightfall)

· Each character will have 1 ultimate ability

o Narratively speaking, this is taking the special drug that Dr. Watanabe created to augment their abilities

· Every time the player levels up, they will receive a skill point that they can use to unlock upgrades for their skills and/or weapons

· Every 5 levels (subject to change) the player will unlock a new skill that can significantly alter gameplay if they choose to equip it


For Ghost

· Primary Weapon: “The Persuader”: A suppressed assault rifle (M4)

· Secondary Weapon: “The Muffler”: The “fiber wire” from HITMAN, or the “monowire” from Cyberpunk 2077, a lethal weapon that is able to silently suffocate the enemy

· Character Passive: “Big Brother”: All enemy electronics and equipment are highlighted on the player’s screen and HUD

· Upgradable Passive Option 1: “Flicker”: Every device that Ghost hacks or disables gives him 5% charge toward his ultimate ability

· Upgradeable Passive Option 2: “Overwatch”: Deploys a drone over the battlefield that will follow the player and mark enemies on the mini map every 8 seconds

· Tactical Ability Option 1: “EMP”: An electromagnetic grenade that temporarily disables all electronics in its area of effect

· Tactical Ability Option 2: “There’s A Ghost”: A device that allows Ghost to manipulate any electronic device in his direct line of sight. For example, he could overload a generator, causing it to explode. Or he can turn on a radio and bring enemies to it

· Tactical Ability Option 3: “Bolt”: A robot called Bolt that he can give simple commands to such as: defend this point, attack this enemy

· Ultimate Ability: “Lights Out”: disables all electronics in the area for 60 seconds (90 seconds when upgraded). Sends nearby enemies into a state of disorientation for 3 seconds. Gain 3 free uses of the tactical ability that ignores cooldown. Tactical cooldown after those 3 free charges is lowered while the ultimate ability is active


For Nightfall

· Primary Weapon: “Hawkeye”: A .50 cal. BMG sniper rifle with 8 bullets per magazine and an effective range of 1500-1800 meters

· Secondary Weapon: “Severance Pay”: A fully automatic pistol with a high rate of fire, significant reoil, and a magazine capacity of 40-50 rounds

· Character Passive: “Gone with the Wind”: Wind speed and direction is always displayed on the HUD (wind speed and direction directly affects sniper gameplay)

· Upgradeable Passive Option 1: “From Dusk till Dawn”: Spotter’s scope with night vision (upgrade gives it thermal vision)

· Upgradeable Passive Option 2: “Long Distance Relationship”: Every kill from 500-599 meters grants 5% charge toward ultimate ability. Every kill from 600-699 meters grants 6% charge toward ultimate ability. Every kill from 700-799 meters grants 7% charge toward ultimate ability. … Every kill from 1500+ meters grants 15% charge toward ultimate ability

· Tactical Abilities: The player will choose to equip 2 of the following 3 grenade types:

o Decoy grenades

o Smoke grenades

o Flashbang grenades

o The player would have 5 of each grenade they equip

· Ultimate Ability: “Deadeye”: each successful hit on a target with her primary sniper rifle does not consume the bullet, increases the speed at which new rounds are chambered, and increases the aim down sight time. For the secondary pistol: recoil is significantly reduced. All shots are suppressed. Every kill adds 2 more seconds to the ability’s duration


For Rei

· Primary Weapon: “Pain and Pleasure”: Dual wielding semi-automatic pistols (with burst fire upgrade)

· Secondary Weapon: “Dusk and Dawn”: Dual wielding kukri knives

· Character Passive: “More, Please”: Automatically picks up ammunition off the bodies of enemies

· Upgradeable Passive Option 1: “Refresher”: Stowing her pistols/swapping to her knives for 5 seconds automatically reloads her pistols

· Upgradeable Passive Option 2: “Desperation”: Silently taking down an opponent allows Rei to interrogate them, marking enemy positions and objectives on the map for 15 seconds

· Upgradeable Passive Option 3: “Bloodlust”: Every kill with the kukri knives gives 5% charge toward her ultimate ability

· Tactical Ability Option 1: “Blink”: A dash move that lets her dash in the direction the player is pointing (direction of movement either with the joystick on the controller on the movement keys on keyboard)

· Tactical Ability Option 2: “Take it Easy”: Slows time around the player so everyone else moves slowly but the player moves at normal speed. The effect lasts for 8 seconds and has a 25 second cooldown

· Tactical Ability Option 3: “Into the Void”: Player enters into a state of invulnerability where they cannot attack or be attacked. The players movement speed is increased by 10%. Time does not stop or slow down. Lasts for 10 seconds and has a 30 second cooldown

· Ultimate Ability: “Frenzy”: Movement sped increased by 15%. Cooldown on tactical abilities reduced by 50%. Attack power increased by 25%. Effects last for 45 seconds (can be upgraded to 60 seconds)


For Spider Lily

· Primary Weapon: “Broken Promises”: Assault rifle that fires can fire live and rubber ammunition

· Secondary: “Stat”: A taser that can incapacitate an enemy

o Possibly a gun that shoots a tether/net that incapacitates an enemy

· Character Passive: “Vitamins”: Health regeneration rate increased by 25%. Base hp increased by 20%

· Upgradeable Passive Option 1: “Mercy”: For every injured enemy Spider Lily helps (by dragging them into cover and/or healing their wounds) she gains 8% charge toward her ultimate ability

· Upgradeable Passive Option 2: “Fleet-footed Fairy”: For every injured enemy Spider Lily helps her movement speed increases by 5% for 1 minute. Stacks up to a maximum of 50%

· Tactical Ability Option 1: “Castle”: Deployable cover that has a base amount of hp (can upgrade the hp and eventually make it indestructible)

· Tactical Ability Option 2: “Volt traps”: Shock traps (nonlethal)

· Ultimate Ability: “Guardian Angel”: Movement speed increased by 30%. Health regeneration rate increased by 25%. Every enemy she helps increases the duration of the ultimate ability by 10 seconds. She also gains Rei’s dash tactical for the duration of her ultimate (cooldown follows rules of Rei’s ultimate ability, “Frenzy”
